Freezing mid-winter cold snaps will be a distant memory when Aotearoa's annual summer festival Rhythm & Alps returns to Wānaka's Cardrona Valley from 29th to 31st December. Ushering in the new year with a mega stacked bill of international and local superstars, Rhythm & Alps have announced their first lineup today, including forty acts with even more to be revealed in the coming weeks. Welcoming overseas artists back to Rhythm & Alps for the first time since 2020, today's announcement notably highlights an emphasis on gender diversity and environmentally friendly sustainable camping.

Happening over three days and five stages, big names on the festival's lineup for 2022 include Sydney electronic groovers Cosmos Midnight, Zambian-born / Australia-based hip hop star Sampa The Great and the return of soul-pop crooner Dope Lemon. They'll be bringing the heat alongside such heavy hitters as Manchester DJ / drum 'n' bass production don Andy C, Concord Dawn, Kora, Halfqueen, Babyfacekilla, Pitch Black, Paige Julia, Mr Meaty Boy, Alice Agnes, lilbubblegum and more. Grip the official details revealed so far below, and keep it locked for even more huge additions to the Rhythm & Alps 2022 bill to be announced in late August...

"We are thrilled to welcome the festival back for 2022, this year we have focused on a very diverse lineup. We've also been building a brand-new stage for our acts to perform on that's probably the most dynamic stage in the country. I can't wait for people to experience it" — festival organiser Alex Turnbull
