Earth Tongue and Dick Move are touring together nationwide this month, and we've invited both bands to curate an exclusive road trip playlist to celebrate this thunderous musical pairing. Dividing duties evenly down the line, Earth Tongue selected tracks 1 to 10 and Dick Move hand-picked tracks 11 to 20, treating your ears to a generous variety of tunes by Tubeway Army, Goblin, Thin Lizzy, Billy Bragg, Sharon Brown, DJ Sirvere and a whole lot more. "Earth Tongue's playlist channels our realistic road trip energy, which is to say that neither of us can ever decide what we should listen to. One minute we're committed to proto metal, the next minute someones snatching the phone and chucking on bootylicious '80s disco. If you're in the mood to make a pact with ole Lucifer the Coven song 'Black Sabbath' is a goodie. Or if you want a gateway into '70s Italian horror, chuck on 'Profondo Rosso' and check out the film of the name title while you're at it. Tubeway Army's 'Are Friends Electric?' is there for when you need to dance like your Dad and to top it off we've included Dick Move's iconic ripper of a track 'Dick Move.' 1. Stop talking get in the car! Some rabble-rousing unity first up as we pull out of the car park, all for one and one for all, singing along to the chorus with Billy. W.
2. "Riding down the highway" we crank up Aka Daka! who doesn't love bagpipes at 100kmph
3. Fun fact If you start Kokomo as you come down the Bombays to the Tauranga turn off you get to replace the lyric "Kokomo" with "Pokeno" as you drive past it, good times! (Fun fact Hariet hates this song)
4. "It must be time for some Sabbath" - Hariet?
5. Thin Lizzy up next, we replace "The Boys" with "Luke Boyes" the comedy continues
6. Earth Tongue? Don't mind if we do. Blasting Miraculous Death as we open the first bag of chips.
