The Narcs Announce Spring Tour of New Zealand

Aotearoa rock 'n' roll icons The Narcs have been charging hard as ever in 2022. The trio of Andy Dickson (guitar / vocals), bassist Tony Waine and drummer Josh Sorenson launched their fifth studio album Outskirts in June and have now announced their second tour of this year, hitting venues nationwide in November. Celebrating 41 years together as a band (that's one more year than even Canterbury legends The Bats), The Narcs ruled New Zealand's singles charts in the '80s with such massive anthems reverberating through the ages as 'Heart and Soul' and 'Diamonds and China'. Sharing the stage with Icehouse at Tāmaki's Aotea Centre just before the global pandemic mucked up everyone's gig plans, The Narcs have recently been treating fans to a historically crucial, freshly remastered archive of their video releases over on YouTube and launched a crystalline new version of 'Heart and Soul' in 2020 (featured on the new record). This is gonna rock out! The Narcs will be playing some of their classic early hits like Heart and Soul, Diamonds on China, Over My Head, No Turning Back, Stay Away, Look The Other Way plus songs from the new Outskirts Album.

2022 has been busy for the band. They released their fifth album Outskirts and played sold-out shows around Aotearoa to celebrate. The new album featured 5 singles: Not The Man, Always Stay, I Don’t Want To Go To Work Today, Not Over & Summerhill Stone plus Heart and Soul 2020, a fresh remake of the 1984 hit and RIANZ Song Of The Year. The band also toured with The Jon Stevens Band on their recent New Zealand tour.

From their noisy beginnings back in Christchurch 1981, The Narcs have gone on to win numerous music and song-writing awards, sign with major labels and release hit singles, had their music used on TV commercials, sold out tours and supported international acts including Queen, Elton John, Midnight Oil, Cold Chisel, Split Enz, and Icehouse.
