Bootleg Rascal NZ Tour Supports Announced - Dolphin Friendly, Tahini Bikini, Coast Arcade
Hailing from the Gold Coast in Australia, Bootleg Rascal are making it their mission to bring the good times to Auckland's The Tuning Fork, Wellington's San Fran and Christchurch's 12 Bar. Touring their latest album Sloppy Seconds (in fact their third long player) this September, the duo of Carlos Lara and Jimmy Young brighten up this grey old Friday with a bevy of treats for fans. They've announced supports Coast Arcade, Tahini Bikini and Dolphin Friendly for their respective Aotearoa shows and shared sun-soaked new single 'Rescue Me' — a groove-laden, lifeguard-loving pop anthem sparked by “re-runs of Baywatch, The Sandlot Kids and clips of Kenny Powers slaying on a jet ski," co-produced by the band and Greg Stace (Boy & Bear, Gordi, COTERIE). Lara possibly should have checked twice before he signed off this cheeky PR statement about the streaming superstars' new song — watch the video below...
“Look, I probably won’t even read this press release, nor am I likely aware we even have a song coming out. My manager won’t be surprised if this placeholder quote is actually sent out to press. I really should read things, but I don’t because I’m a big bald f*ckhead!” — Carlos Lara
