Live Photos: Fur Patrol, Soft Plastics — The Tuning Fork, Auckland
Punted more than a year down the road due to the global pandemic, Tāmaki Makaurau fans finally got to join Fur Patrol in celebration of the 21st birthday of their seminal debut album PET on Saturday at The Tuning Fork. Triumphing over the rigmarole of seemingly endless tran-Tasman travel restrictions, the reunited team of Julia Deans (star of Trash Recital), Andrew Bain and drummer Simon Braxton (who is based in Melbourne) were supported by Te Whanganui-a-Tara's Soft Plastics, who recently shared fab new single 'Day Job' (including a darkly comic video directed by Stella Reid). Photographer Dave Simpson took sterling snaps of the very special event, exclaiming "Lots of great songs and jollyness!" We hope you nabbed tickets for Fur Patrol's forthcoming Wellington and Napier tour dates as they are now sold out — click on the thumbnails below to view the full image gallery...
