Sports Dreams Announce 'Weather Admitting' EP Release Tour + Drop Single 'DIY'
It's been three years between releases from Pōneke / Te Papaioea's sports dreams, the collaborative project of Shannen Georgia Petersen (fruit juice parade, Welcomer) and Fraser Williams (First Move). That's all set to change with today's announcement that EP number two Weather Admitting is on the way courtesy of the hard-working Papaiti Records team, launching with a nationwide spring tour featuring Synthetic Children for all five dates. Bringing massive feels with lead single 'DIY', Petersen declares "you win, unknowingly I let you in" atop a lush bed of panoramic guitars, heart-melting keys and minimal, almost industrial-textured electronic percussion. The pair have also shared a swirling bonus "Bandcamp surprise" track titled 'SD4' to accompany 'DIY', showcasing tape wizardry by Harry Lilley (also of First Move) — listen up below and don't miss sports team at the following dates...
