Watch D. C. Maxwell Perform 'I've Been Wrong' at The Wine Cellar w/ 12 Piece Band
Indisputably one of Tāmaki Makaurau's hottest rising talents, D. C. Maxwell aka Daniel Smith (formerly of Roidz) has shared with the world his first official release — a live video documenting the songwriter's recent performance with 12 piece all-star band at The Wine Cellar. Joined for the occasion by a murderers' row of local musicians, including members of Sulfate, LEAO, Na Noise, Green Grove, Recitals and more, D. C. Maxwell croons his yet to be released country-tinted ballad 'I've Been Wrong' with an almost preacher-like fervour, lifting a line along the way from Darcy Clay's late nineties lo-fi classic 'Jesus I've Been Evil'. Filmed by Courtney Rodgers and edited by Keria Paterson, viewers are advised the dynamite clip for 'I've Been Wrong' comes with an accompanying content warning: "this music video is extremely cool". Reportedly hard at work with producer Ruddell on a forthcoming debut album, smash play on D. C. Maxwell's 'I've Been Wrong' below...
"I wanted the first time I played these songs with a full band to really make a statement. That is why the stage was filled with the best musicians I know, all playing their hearts out. It was an epic experience". — D. C. Maxwell
