They'll be debuting fresh material and revisiting time-honoured faves in the lead up to new album Arthur Ahbez & The Flaming Ahbez, the first full length collection of songs from Ahbez since his standout 2017 folk-psych opus Volume II. Genre-bending Auckland artist Arthur Ahbez is taking his folk-laden rock and roll on tour across Aotearoa with The Reckless Tour.

Spreading out his musical tendrils like the new plague, Arthur Ahbez along with his rag tag group of quasi notorious band members head out in November to assail your ears with more aural pleasure than possibly known. Join them as they smash out a mix of new electric material and solo favourites in anticipation of Arthur’s forthcoming album Arthur Ahbez & The Flaming Ahbez, due 2023.

Arthur Ahbez & The Flaming Ahbez sees a departure from DIY recording, delivering a more polished sound in this studio album recorded with his band The Flaming Ahbez. This highly anticipated album is near completion, with the first feature single “Reckless” slated for release November 2022.

In 2013, Arthur released his debut self-recorded and self-produced album Gold. A cosy mix of soft firelight folk and psychedelia, Gold quickly gained a tight-knit following of fans from all over the world. Singles "Walk On" and "The Fundamentals" rocketed their way up local radio charts and were soon after licensed for American television. 2017 saw the release of his second self-recorded effort, Volume II. Part concept album and part follow-up to Gold, Volume II's songs exhibited Arthur's growth as a songwriter and his increasing mastery of a unique lo-fi sonic vision. Side A's "Painters Portrait" explored his British folk influences, while Side B reveled in his love of 60s rock and roll.

Vacillating between playful tongue-in-cheek remarks and universal truths, Arthur's songs are grown from the soil of his personal philosophy. Love, existential angst, joy and trepidation interact behind a canvas of reverb and piercing electric guitar.
