Rob Ruha and Ka Hao Win APRA Silver Scroll Award

Aotearoa's prestigious songwriting prize, the 2022 APRA Silver Scroll Award | Kaitito Kaiaka was presented last night to Rob Ruha and Ka Hao for their exuberant te reo pop waiata '35' at a star-studded ceremony at Tāmaki Makaurau's Spark Arena — the first time a live presentation for the award has taken place since 2019. Rob Ruha was also music director for the evening with Cilla Ruha (they were both originally announced as music directors for 2021's live ceremony before it was canceled), curating absolutely majestic performances of this year's top five finalist's songs, along with an incredibly moving tribute to 2022 NZ Music Hall of Fame Inductees Te Kumeroa 'Ngoingoi' Pēwhairangi QSM and her aunt Tuini Moetū Haangū Ngāwai, an opening performance by Tiki Taane and more, concluding the evening with a triumphant rendition of 'Poi E'.
