Listen To Senica's Debut EP 'Passing Tide'

Chris Cudby / Thursday 17th November, 2022 2:50PM

Releasing insta-classic new albums in 2022 by Ben Woods, Jim Nothing, Violet French, Big Scout, Best Bets and Local Tourist, Ōtautahi's Melted Ice Cream foster fresh local talent with today's debut EP from Canterbury foursome Senica. Showcasing five big-hearted and neatly balanced guitar pop tunes, family ties abound on Passing Tide — singer / guitarists Theo Tudor and Jai Tudor-Oakley are cousins, and drummer Jesse Stevens’ brother De Stevens (of Marlin’s Dreaming) both recorded / produced and contributed instrumentation. Friends since high school days (only a few years ago), Senica's bassist and keys player Oscar Hartley picked up the bass specifically for the band. Feeling alternately optimistic and apprehensive, not unlike the changing of the seasons, Senica are celebrating Passing Tide's release at their hometown's Space Academy this coming Saturday with Sam Bambery. Grip a limited cassette edition of Passing Tide sporting swish cover artwork by Jessica Stevens over on the group's Bandcamp page HERE and go catch them this week...
