Sparked by a wave of musical energy during the stretched out, no-end-in-sight lockdown days of 2020, Sean James Donnelly aka SJD's new album Sweetheart is already being lauded as one of this year's best. Making a rare live appearance this December in Port Chalmers as part of Nadia Reid’s two night Xmas Show celebrations, we're stoked to provide an exclusive first look at the video for rustic guitar-strummin' standout single 'waterhole', from the multi-award winning artist's ninth studio long player.

Shot and edited by SJD, filmed in Tāmaki Makaurau's sunny Glen Eden, and starring Tashi Donnelly and Cameron McCurdy as the clip's rat-headed stars, the free-spirited clip for 'waterhole' perfectly conveys the feeling of suburban adventuring in an eerily empty super city (ie. whenever there's a long weekend or summer holiday) — now we know what local rodents were getting up to while we were confined to our homes. An all-star affair featuring backing vocals by Don McGlashan, Sandy Mill and Tami Neilson (plus the artist himself via studio magic), soak up SJD's 'waterhole' and catch him at the following dates...
