Junus Orca Unveils Single / Video 'PB Possum (These Thoughts Are My Own)'
Aotearoa electronic adventurer Junus Orca has reemerged with gorgeous new audio-visual work 'PB Possum (These Thoughts Are My Own)', foreshadowing their upcoming mini-album A True Stream, releasing via local imprint Club Unique later this month. Pulsing crystalline rhythms flow amidst delicate synthetic flourishes, oceanic pads and a slipstream of "computer generated vocal transmission," prompting synapse-scrambling sensations — feeling counterintuitively comforting, remote, wryly amusing, unsettling and emotionally resonant.
Recent collaborator with fellow Ōtautahi-based artists Social Sport, "03 OG" Kamandi and Instant Fantasy (releasing an EP with the producer via FIS’s eco label Saplings later this year), Junus Orca operates in 100% solo mode in their self-directed video for the single. A flickering single-shot DIY work starring the artist reciting their track's morphing AI-generated wordplay, like some kind of intimate form of post-human karaoke, hit play below and look forward to the full seven track collection out on 28th February [content warning: strobing imagery]...
Limited edition cassette preorders for 'A True Stream' are available HERE.
