Seven piece musical collective Recitals have announced they'll soon be performing together again in Tāmaki Makaurau, playing an album tour epilogue extravaganza at Whammy Bar on 1st April. Boasting members based in Te Whanganui-A-Tara and the super city, the group released their sonically spellbinding Flying Nun debut album Orbit I last August, followed by a run of summer release shows cut short due to the pandemic. Special guests for their autumn headline event include a rare solo performance by Kane Strang (now of Office Dog) plus electronic dance revolutionary Baby Zionov — here are the details...

Press release:

Once upon a time, during a blustery December when sickness was running amuck, the 7-piece Recitals had to regrettably cancel a couple of shows in the northern part of the motu. At last, after some good rest and lots of lemon honey and ginger tea, the time has come for Recitals to return, with their epic tour epilogue ('epiclogue?') at Whammy Mainroom on April 1st in Tāmaki Makaurau, supported by dream-team Baby Zionov and Kane Strang (solo). And no, it isn't an April Fools joke babe! They WILL be squeezing onto the stage.
