Opensouls Headlining Ponsonby Social Club's 15th Birthday Sunday Bash

Tāmaki Makaurau all-stars Opensouls are reuniting for a gala Sunday gig at the end of this month, helping wrap up Ponsonby Social Club's 15th Birthday celebrations. Formed back in 2001, the trailblazing collective — whose membership has included Julien Dyne (Half Hexagon), Jeremy Toy (who launched a new Leonard Charles EP on Friday), Tyra Hammond, Chip Mathews, Bjorn Petersen, Steph "Cee" Brown and more — inspired a whole new generation of jazz, hip hop and soul-loving artists in Aotearoa, go read Gareth Shute's AudioCulture profile for an in-depth account of their work together HERE.
