Boy & Bear Announce Second Wellington Headline Date

Returning to Aotearoa this June their first local shows in seven long years, Australian indie / folk stars Boy & Bear have announced a second Wellington headline date due to hot demand, as their initially announced show at San Fran sold out quick as a flash. Stoking the flames of excitement even further, the award-winning Sydney five-piece have also shared the news that NZ songwriter Luke Thompson will play support for both events in the capital, along with the group's avidly-awaited performance at Auckland's The Powerstation. Australian indie titans Boy & Bear have sold out their Wellington date at San Fran prompting organisers to add a second show. The band will now play a new date on Thursday 22 June as well as the sold out Friday 23 June at San Fran in Wellington plus Saturday 24 June at The Powerstation in Auckland. Tickets for the new show are on sale now. Remaining tickets for the Auckland date are selling quickly and fans are encouraged to get in quick to avoid disappointment as there will be no extra shows added once these dates are sold out.

Joining Boy & Bear at all three shows is New Zealand singer songwriter Luke Thompson. Thompson has been a fixture in Aotearoa’s folk music scene since his debut single ‘Morning Light’ spent 11 weeks in the NZ Top 40 Charts in 2005. Now after three albums, two EP’s and a new album on the horizon, Thompson and his signature story telling is a welcome addition to the line-up. This will be Boy & Bear’s first visit to New Zealand since 2016. With a new self-titled album out 26 May and latest single ‘Apex’ already receiving spins on Radio Hauraki, fans can expect new music alongside old favourites at their three New Zealand dates.
