We Will Ride Fast Unveils New Album 'Army Of Invisible Zombies' + Video

C.C. / C.L. / Friday 21st April, 2023 10:11AM

The psychedelic post synth-punk project of Kyle Sattler (Frayden, Seedy Burners), Tauranga's We Will Ride Fast revs up your Friday with his brand new album Army Of Invisible Zombies. Bundling together earlier singles 'Bing Bong Dong' and 'Best Burner' with seven fresh tunes, AOIZ's genre-straddling palette deploys fuzzy guitars (in both spiky and shoegaze modes), pulsing new wavey electronics and often loping, goth-tinted grooves as an aural backdrop for Sattler's philosophical lyrical musings — all entirely written, recorded and performed (Prince-style) by the artist himself. WWRF's second full length project to be made with funding support from Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology, AOIZ tackles the mercurial question "what are the essential skills required for any independent DIY musicians within the ‘primarily’ domestic music scene” — available in a beaut red vinyl 12" limited edition you can nab a copy of right HERE.

Accompanying the chugging title track is a new self-directed video, featuring grainy analogue footage of champion racer Paul ‘Pins’ Sattler and his 1965 FED (front end dragster) Vindicator burnin' rubber down the Meremere Dragway. To celebrate the release of AOIZ, We Will Ride Fast is heading out on a series of headline shows beginning tonight at his hometown's Jam Factory with buds Edward Gains and Ydoubler — don't miss him in action at the following dates...
