Watch Pickle Darling's Video For New Single 'Invercargill Angel'

All signs point towards 2023 being the year of Pickle Darling. Back home in Ōtautahi following a successful recent overseas jaunt to SXSW, Lukas Mayo has today unveiled the heavenly latest single / video combo from their third album Laundromat, out on 16th June via US imprint Father/Daughter Records. Directed by Aimee Cooki Martin (Strange Stains) and made with support from NZ On Air, the clip for 'Invercargill Angel' documents a free-spirited road trip to the beach at night in celebration of the new record being capped off (with a Blair Witch-y twist), co-starring the songwriter and director garbed in some beaut outfits alongside Christie Shor, Laura Duffy, and Martin Sagadin. Pickle Darling has a smattering of local appearances lined up for the near future, including special guest slots for Tiny Ruins (tonight) and Model Home on 27th May. “This was one of the last songs I wrote for the album. I came up with the kind of repeating mantra bit on a long drive and just sang it in my head for an hour so I wouldn’t forget it. It came together reasonably quickly, maybe the quickest song on the album to write! As for the video, uh me and my friends got some burgers and went to hang out on the beach to celebrate the album being finished, and I have no memory of what went down but luckily my friends captured it all on film…” — Pickle Darling
