Descendents Announce Auckland Headline Show

Chris Cudby / Thursday 29th June, 2023 1:00PM

California punk pioneers Descendents have done Aotearoa fans a major solid, announcing an Auckland headline show at The Powerstation this October, as part of their upcoming trans-Tasman tour of Australasia. A foundational force within Los Angeles' turbulent early hardcore scene, Descendents have unleashed eight studio albums and counting since they first formed in Manhattan Beach back in 1977, foisting upon the world such pivotal long players as I Don't Want To Grow Up (1985) and their debut album Milo Goes To College (1982).

Descendents' explosively irreverent, hook-packed influence runs deep in Cal-punk history, Blink-182's Tom DeLonge has gushed "Everything about how I sing and play guitar came from this band... Blink is absolutely a product of The Descendents". Don't dare miss the team of Milo Aukerman, Bill Stevenson, Stephen Egerton and Karl Alvarez for what may well be their first ever appearance on local stages, joined for the event by Flirting With Disaster and The Flash Harrys. Fan presales are available now, with general public tickets going on sale next Tuesday...
