Sorry Debut New Zealand Shows Announced

Chris Cudby / Tuesday 25th July, 2023 11:00AM

UK post-punk collective Sorry have announced their debut visit to Aotearoa, playing headline dates in Te Whanganui-a-Tara and Tāmaki Makaurau this October. Emerging in the late '10s from Brixton's vibrant Windmill scene — where they shared the stage with Black Midi, Goat Girl and Shame — the rising North London five-piece have two studio long players and a live record to their un-Googleable name thus far, 925 (2020) and latest album Anywhere But Here (recorded by Portishead's Adrian Utley) out late last year via Domino. Hailed by The Guardian as "just as likely to be inflected with 90s grunge as with jazz or trip-hop", don't miss Sorry bringing their genre-scrambling anthems to San Fran and Neck of the Woods this spring, brought to you by I OH YOU and Frontier Touring...

Press release:

I OH YOU and Frontier Touring are excited to announce critically acclaimed British indie band Sorry will make their way to Australia & New Zealand in October 2023, performing five headline shows in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland and Wellington.

Currently on a 20-date European tour following the release of their acclaimed latest album, Anywhere But Here (out now via Domino), Sorry emerged from Brixton’s Windmill scene, where they played alongside Shame, Goat Girl and Black Midi. Sorry have created their own distinctive musical world – one that draws together a shared passion for lo-fi sounds of grunge, trap, and shoegaze. As one of the UK’s hottest rising outfits, 2022’s Anywhere But Here was described by NME as “frequently taking sudden turns that you don’t see coming”. Tickets will go on sale Friday 28 July (1pm local time) via Sign up for early ticket access to the Frontier Members Presale, which starts Wednesday 26 July (11am local time – see website for more info).
