Soon to be wrapping up Milk! Records after more than ten hugely successful years, co-founder Jen Cloher (Ngāpuhi, Ngāti Kahu) played their first ever Aotearoa headline dates over the weekend, celebrating the recent launch of new album I Am The River, The River Is Me / Ko au the awa, Ko te awa ko au — featuring contributions from Te Kaahu (Waikato-Tainui, Ngaati Tiipaa), Ruby Solly (Kāi Tahu, Waitaha, Kāti Māmoe), and Tom Healy and Cass Basil of Tiny Ruins. Photography wiz Ashley Brown headed along to Friday's event at Pōneke's Meow and took a beautiful selection of snaps of Cloher with band and special guests, takatāpui drag queen girl group The Tiwhas.
