Listen To The Larry Normans' New Album 'Dirty Living'
Arising like a garage-rock / metal phoenix from the post-apocalyptic streets of Tāmaki Makaurau after thirteen years downtime, The Larry Normans make a mighty return with new album Dirty Living. Original members guitarist Andrew Ashton and drummer Paul ‘Bubs’ Stephenson with fresh recruits singer Nathan Rea and bassist Jonathan Bowen crank the grunty riffs up to and beyond the max on their twelve song opus — ripping into action with massive opener 'HMF Sleeve', and not taking their foot off the pedal until the decaying tones of penultimate anthem 'Numb', getting in touch with their tender side on closing ballad 'Art in the Fields'. Along the way, the reinvigorated four-piece tackle such hard-bitten topics as getting your "drink on", riding "through the gates of hell", and the knife-edge life of a rock 'n' roll outsider with fire in their blood and gusto to spare. I'd wager they're killer live too, go catch The Larry Normans celebrating their nitro-injected new record at Raglan's YOT Club on 11th August and Ohakune's Tūroa Lodge on 12th August...
