Community Garden Presents Mechatok — Auckland Show Announced

Tāmaki Makaurau party facilitators Community Garden have announced a sonically rejuvenating springtime event starring Berlin club innovator Mechatok, alongside Tāmaki Makaurau's Ngāsti (Crdio and Sezzo) and Related Articles prime mover Sequentia at Whammy Bar on 23rd September. A prodigious producer / DJ who had already toured the States, Asia, South America and Europe before the age of 21, Mechatok's recent releases include 2021's collaborative album Good Luck with Swedish rap star Bladee (Drain Gang), and accompanying remix collection featuring Charli XCX, Evian Christ and witch house icons SALEM — expanding an oeuvre including collabs with Yung Lean, Ecco2K, Palmistry, and 2020's Defective Holiday original game soundtrack. "Community Garden are super happy to welcome Berlin's very own Mechatok to Tāmaki Makaurau’s Whammy Bar.

Since playing classical guitar as a child, and taking up beat making on his family copy of Garageband at 14 years old, Timur Tokdimir has sheened up his own lil universe of shiny sonic gems; that pop with emotionality, universalist care and inquisitivity.

In a short series of years he has music’d with familial groupings like Staycore, Yegorka, Bala Club, Drain Gang and YEAR0001 - working with some faves like Toxe, Mobilegirl, Bladee, Ecco2k, Charli XCX and Yung Lean - as well as starting his own Natural Mind series in the past year.

As a DJ, his mixes are a fun delving into the cute networks that tie us together - overlapping heartbeats, with thoughtful euphoric moments abound. Just what we need rn fr.
