Recent support for Danish electronic icon Trentemøller's Tāmaki Makaurau event, producer and multi-instrumentalist Pete Hickman is launching the self-titled debut EP from his Speech Act Theory project on 29th September via AAA Records. Conjuring groove-heavy, atmospheric electronica / trip hop sonics utilising electronic and acoustic instrumentation on earlier singles including 'Old Versus New', 'Holding Out', 'Grief Wave' and 'Straight Lines', Hickman has a pair of North Island EP release events lined up — performing solo at Pōneke's Thirteen on Garret on 23rd September with Birdparty and Machine Learning, and with his Speech Act Theory live band at the super city's Big Fan on 29th September, joined by Scalper and Ferdishenko DJ...

Pete Hickman aka Speech Act Theory - the modern day musical alchemist blurring the lines between alternative, electronica and trip hop with a unique twist. Amalgamating electronic and acoustic instruments to create a soundscape that captivates audiences with his live band as well as solo performances the musics tells stories of acceptance and prevailing while providing soundscapes to sonically visualise the process.
Off the back of supporting Danish electronic legend Trentemoller at the Powerstation in June, Speech Act Theory are back and releasing their debut self titled EP which will be released through AAA Records on Sept 29th.
To celebrate the release of the EP. He will be playing a 2 date EP Tour, 'Thirteen on Garrett', Wellington Saturday Sept 23rd, This will be a special solo show showcasing their more electronic sound. The second date will be at 'Big Fan' on Friday Sept 29th and will be the full live band
