Dimmer Announce NZ Tour Supports + Share Single 'Searching Time - Live At The Hollywood'
Ensuring the cart is not put ahead of the horse for Dimmer's forthcoming nationwide tour, Shayne P. Carter has announced special guests for all six dates and revealed a new track from forthcoming Live At The Hollywood double album. Comprised of James Duncan (bass / guitar) and Gary Sullivan (drums) with Louisa Nicklin (guitar / vocals), Durham Fenwick (keys / vocals), Neive Strang, and of course Carter himself, the all-star Dimmer band will be joined in Ōtepoti by songwriter / soundscape artist Calla, in Ōtautahi by avant-tunesmith extraordinaire Ben Woods (back from across the ditch) with band, at Pōneke's Old St Paul’s with sonic spellbinders Oghum (Jonny Marks and Nell Thomas), and at Tāmaki Makaurau's The Powerstation with 2023 Best Independent Debut Award winner TE KAAHU.
Documenting Dimmer's sold-out triple night residency at Avondale's Hollywood Cinema last year, the second track unveiled from Live At The Hollywood is 'Searching Time', originally featured on 2004's You've Got To Hear The Music. John Carpenter-like bass pulses lock horns with Sullivan's motorik percussion, evoking ominous atmospheres punctured by moments of applause from the crowd who are clearly loving it, superbly recorded by RNZ’s Andre Upston.
