Spotlight: Joy Anonymous - 'Cult Classics' North Island Tour
London-based electronic dance artists Joy Anonymous are about to burst into Aotearoa with two Te Ika-a-Māui headline events celebrating their upcoming album Cult Classics, the follow up to 2021's breakout debut Human Again. The party igniting duo's new long player began in Imogen Heap’s Hideaway Studio in Romford, picking up influences from artists they met on their travels. Already having rubbed shoulders with the likes of Fred Again, Jyoty, Skrillex, The Blessed Madonna and Four Tet, the electronic duo freshly dished out some house heat at New York’s XPIZZA joint, linking up with fellow Brits Jungle last weekend in the Big Apple.
Joy Anonymous' new single ‘I Did You Wrong’ expands Henry Counsell and Louis Curran’s musical mission to spread happiness far and wide for all “joy warriors”. Upon overcoming personal hardships by embracing tougher emotions, the upbeat dance track becomes a triumphant celebration of gospel intensity. Aotearoa can expect such jubilation this November at Pōneke’s San Fran (special guests to be announced) and Tāmaki Makaurau’s The Studio with support from Bavhu, Beccie B and Buttermilk. Immerse yourself in the freeing rhythms of Joy Anonymous, look forward to the full release of Cult Classics on 3rd November (preorders HERE) and grab tickets below — brought to you by Endeavour Live…
