Whakatāne's summer-blazing kings Kora are revving up for the sunny season with the announcement of a headline show at Ōakura's Butler's Reef on 20th January. Legendarily formed as a band of all-brothers in the early nineties, core members Fran and Stu Kora, Dan McGruer and Richie Allan have charted new courses for the genre-melting dub / reggae / soul / rock / electronic collective with a fresh wave of releases over the past few years — joined by new recruits Darren Matthiassen (Trinity Roots, Shapeshifter), Marika Hodgson (Hollie Smith, Troy Kingi, Alae), and Karlos Tunks (Troy Kingi, MMQ).
