Delaney Davidson Shares Single 'Don't Walk Away From Love' + Announces New Album

Chris Cudby / Friday 1st December, 2023 10:06AM

Co-winner of the APRA Best Country Music Song Award with Tami Neilson for ‘Beyond The Stars’ featuring Willie Nelson, Lyttelton luminary Delaney Davidson has announced his tenth studio album Out Of My Head will be released into the world on 22nd March. Inarguably one of Aotearoa's most respected songwriters, Davidson's new record is graced by guest contributions from Marlon Williams and Reb Fountain, with Mark Perkins (Merk) lending his expert ear on co-production duties — showcasing Davidson's gift for collaboration with co-writing credits including Hayley Westenra, Sam Scott, Miranda Eastern, and the aforementioned Williams.

Performing at Lyttelton Coffee Company's New Years Eve Eve end of year bash on 30th December (tickets HERE), Davidson today lifts the veil on his new record's lead single 'Don't Walk Away From Love'. Haunting, majestic and disarmingly frank, Davidson's crackling croon delivers heartfelt advice for listeners, with strings arranged by Dr Karl Steven elevating the ballad's immaculate instrumentation. Initially written during the global pandemic lockdown era, you can preorder Out Of My Head HERE, look forward to devilish visuals for 'Don't Walk Away From Love' out tomorrow, and catch Davidson touring all around Aotearoa in April in collaboration with Chamber Music New Zealand’s CMNZ Series (tour details HERE) — plus performing with Marlon Williams at 95bFM's Save The b fundraiser at Auckland Town Hall on 20th December.

"I have always helped other people like Tami, Marlon and Troy Kingi make these rich albums and when I asked Mark to come co produce with me I think what I was really wanting to do was finally make one of these albums for myself."

'Out Of My Head' launches on Friday 22nd March via Rough Diamond — preorders available HERE.
