Co-founder of the globally influential Milk! Records imprint, which has just wrapped up following 12 successful years of releases, Naarm-based songwriting luminary Jen Cloher (Ngāpuhi, Ngāti Kahu) is returning to Aotearoa for a three date tour in March. Inviting Te Kaahu, Ruby Solly, and Tiny Ruins members Tom Healy and Cass Basil as contributors on their latest album I Am The River, The River Is Me / Ko au the awa, Ko te awa ko au — "an honouring of my powerful matrilineal line of wāhine Māori and the first time I have had the confidence to write and perform in my reo" — Cloher will treat local fans to intimate solo performances in Tāmaki Makaurau, Te Whanganui-a-Tara and Ōtautahi (their debut performance in the garden city). Do no miss these very special limited capacity events, with all-star special guests in each city — brought to you by 100% Good...

Press release:

After some incendiary band shows in Te Whanganui-a-Tara and Tāmaki Makaurau last year, Jen Cloher returns for an intimate solo tour featuring an Ōtautahi debut.

Those who first discovered Cloher on tour with Tiny Ruins in 2019 will remember how powerful their solo shows can be. Their most recent album, Ko au te awa, Ko te awa ko au (I Am The River, The River Is Me) is a return to Cloher’s Māori whakapapa (Ngāpuhi/ Ngāti Kahu) honouring the line of Wāhine Toa they descend from.

The album was nominated for an ARIA and shortlisted for the Australian Music Prize and made 2023 top ten lists on RNZ 'The Sampler’, Rolling Stone, The Guardian, NME and Double J.
