Press release:
After some incendiary band shows in Te Whanganui-a-Tara and Tāmaki Makaurau last year, Jen Cloher returns for an intimate solo tour featuring an Ōtautahi debut.
Those who first discovered Cloher on tour with Tiny Ruins in 2019 will remember how powerful their solo shows can be. Their most recent album, Ko au te awa, Ko te awa ko au (I Am The River, The River Is Me) is a return to Cloher’s Māori whakapapa (Ngāpuhi/ Ngāti Kahu) honouring the line of Wāhine Toa they descend from.
The album was nominated for an ARIA and shortlisted for the Australian Music Prize and made 2023 top ten lists on RNZ 'The Sampler’, Rolling Stone, The Guardian, NME and Double J.
