Shonen Knife NZ Tour Supports Announced - Teenwolf, Sure Boy, CINDY, Cootie Cuties
Absolute legends of Japanese punk rock, Shonen Knife are back in Aotearoa next month playing headline dates all around Te Ika-a-Māui. Formed in Osaka in 1981 and still featuring co-founders Naoko Yamano and Atsuko Yamano, with more recent recruit Risa Kawano (who joined in 2015), Shonen Knife's peerless back catalogue boasts twenty studio albums (!) and anthems that have been covered by the likes of Nirvana, who would play 'Twist Barbie' live when they toured the EU together back in 1991. Shonen Knife have announced today top notch local supports for their March tour, performing on Waiheke Island with recently reactivated super-trio Teenwolf — Chelsea Nikkel (Princess Chelsea), Brad Fafejta (Créme Jéan, Conjurors) and Vincent Lum (Vincent H.L, Magic Factory) — at Pōneke's San Fran with Sure Boy, in Raglan with CINDY, and Tamaki Makaurau's Whammy Bar with Cootie Cuties. If you miss out on these shows you might as well be snoozing on life, get amongst at the dates following...
