Mad Professor Returning To New Zealand In March
UK dubwise champion Mad Professor is making his mighty return to Aotearoa in 2024, setting dancefloors ablaze at headline dates in Raglan, Whanganui and Te Whanganui-a-Tara early next month. Initially operating from his living room studio in Thornton Heath in the late '70s (moving to Peckham then South Norwood in the '80s), Mad Professor's bountiful dub / reggae / lovers rock output includes collaborations with such fellow legends as Lee "Scratch" Perry and Massive Attack — that's just the tip of a huge iceberg including local heroes Katchafire and Salmonella Dub — attracting an avid global fanbase including BBC1 icon John Peel (who regularly spun tracks from his Dub Me Crazy series). The prolific producer's recent long players include Mad Professor x Channel One Sound System's Round Two, and a collaborative album with Californian ska-punk stars Sublime and dub pioneer Scientist. Catch him touring around Te Ika-a-Māui with Misled Convoy, Queen Big Punch (Bigbada Boom Sound System) and DJ Cian at the following dates...
