Listen To Marmalade Skies' Debut Album 'WHEN I WAKE UP'
In the midst of a summer launch tour, Tauranga's Marmalade Skies recently unmoored their debut album WHEN I WAKE UP — an eight song coming-of-age collection of wave-rock alchemy that follows on from their 2021 EP Nautical Nectar. Excellently recorded in their flat garage, their inaugural record was produced by drummer Jacob Gerritsen, mastered by Felix Davis at Metropolis Studios halfway across the world in London. The rising collective of Ethan Perkins, Ethan Robertson, Calum Beatson-Blase and Gerritsen share the jazzy chords of ‘Nightmare’, bold lead guitar of ‘Blame’, and the sentimental blurriness of ‘Rhyme or Reason’ and‘Yellow Bus’. Marmalade Skies continue their North Island tour tonight, joined by Iz Waddid Iz and reggae groovers Where’s Jai at Waihi Beach Hotel. Peep the details below...
