Smashed out during the closing days of Tāmaki Makaurau's DIY punk performance / rehearsal warehouse space The Vault, Guilt Grip is the sonically volcanic creation of Ciara Bernstein (No Brainers, Half/Time), Nicola Edwards (REPAIRS), Will Gresson (The Old Dream of Symmetry, Palatial) and Martin Phillips (also of REPAIRS). Sounding urgent but not at all like a rush job, the rapid recording process (literally made "as the studio was dismantled") clearly lit a fire under the supergroup, lyrically railing against such depressingly still-relevant issues as "our racist and transphobic right wing governing parties, the continued attempts to turn back basic human rights, and narcissistic misogynists".
