Sure Boy Announce 'The Testing If You Like This' Tour

Listen up mums and music lovers, Pōneke's Sure Boy are swirling their beakers and tweaking their speakers in prep for their full-on nationwide Testing If You Like This Tour — trialing their latest songs during NZ Music Month / Te Marama Puoro o Aotearoa. Adding stops down south in Te Waipounamu for the first time, the glam and glitter pop-rockers are the high-octane vocals of Beth Stewart, gritty gat and singing of Simone McCarthy, slick bass of Lily Fulton and bang on drums of Freyja Appleyard. Inspired by the likes of Julia Jacklin, The Beths and Ladyhawke, they formed before the first lockdown and most of them met at uni. Since then, they’ve opened for local and international artists like TeenageDads, The Beths and Heavy Chest, with our most recent summer seeing the group add Rhythm and Vines and Cuba Dupa to their festy credits too. Following last year's Better EP, Sure Boy will be lab testing all new tunes from 3rd May, beginning in Tāmaki Makaurau, dipping down to Ōtautahi and Ōtepoti before landing back on solid ground at Pōneke’s Valhalla. Sure Boy embark on their latest venture, the Testing If You Like This tour of Aotearoa.

The band looks to test out a fresh catalogue of songs on willing participants. Which songs will make it to the next stage of testing, and which should be sealed away in an airtight vault forever?

Participate in this grand experiment and help Sure Boy to curate their next body of work!

The Wellington mum-rock band will be playing in Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin and Wellington on their first headline tour of 2024.
