Chris Cudby / Monday 22nd April, 2024 11:11AM

Ōtautahi's affable and multi-talented Jed Parsons has been cooking up the sequel to 2021's mega-catchy long player Brunch and now it's time for an extensive road-test. Gifting fans a live premiere of the entire as-yet-untitled record to come, the IMNZ Debut Release of The Year finalist will play at his hometown's Space Academy on 21st June, Queenstown's Sherwood and Tussock Country Music Festival in Gore. Those in the mood for bawdy festive singalongs can also catch the polymathic performer bringing his A Very Jed Parsons Christmas "multi-sensory s**t show" to Tāmaki Makaurau, as part of the NZ International Comedy Festival in mid-May. Spicy and sweet, Parsons truly does it all — don't miss him at the following dates...

Press release:

A few years since bursting onto the scene with his critically acclaimed debut album ‘Midnight Feast’ (IMNZ Debut Release of The Year finalist) and over 2 million streams down the track, indie-pop sensation Jed Parsons has made a name for himself as one of NZ’s finest singer/songwriters, appearing at major festivals including Auckland City Limits and Electric Avenue as well as selling out venues up and down Aotearoa on countless tours. Parsons’ 2021 sophomore album ‘Brunch’ was a hit with listeners, critics and many publications including Rolling Stone Magazine. RNZ called the closing track Breathe one of the best songs of the year while claiming nobody is writing catchier choruses in Aotearoa right now in another review.

In recent times, Parsons has been lucky to escape a dark descent into the worlds of comedy and childrens music. With new music continuing to bubble away under the surface, an entire album worth of new material is ready to be road-tested.
