Casual Healing Touring New Album 'Driftwood'
Evoking the warm beams of Te Rā shining down upon us, Casual Healing aka Nikau Te Huki is soon embarking on a five-date tour of Te Ika-a-Māui, celebrating his rich new neo-soul / reggae / roots / rock album Driftwood. Deeply inspired by the kaupapa of such figures as Bob Marley and Sault, the Pōneke-based, Māori-Italian songwriter and multi-instrumentalist strives to create music that will "make people feel like they want to be better people". With his "medicinal" group H4LF CĀST, Casual Healing has spread his therapeutic tones across the motu at Twisted Frequency, Tora Bombora, Nest Fest and Gardens Magic.
Co-host of the Reels Independant Music Video Awards last weekend, Casual Healing's winter tour commences at Tāmaki Makaurau’s BIG FAN on 21st June. Be on the look out for who'll be warming up the stages and keep your ears toasty with Driftwood…
"One good thing about healing, when it hits — you feel no pain".
