With hearts pointed towards the horizon, the central theme of PARK RD's new thirteen track debut album The Novel “is definitely love.” Opener ‘June’ takes us on a sonic journey that introduces the long player’s further aches for fulfilment in romance and life. There’s irresistible synths and gat sonics that may sweep our ears but only for a moment, like the pumping-for-a-night-out riff of ‘Call Me Up’ plus searing guitars of ‘I Don’t Wanna Know’ and ‘Save The Planet’. It’s hard not to rock out to the '00s feeling of ‘Secrets', centred around the perspective of a woman, or the brilliance of closer 'Every Night' (check out their live performance at Real Groovy HERE). Currently supporting Sydney's The Rions at a rapidly selling out tour in Australia with Blusher, PARK RD will be hitting Aotearoa venues nationwide this winter (details to be announced), so local fans have plenty of time to get familiar with Tom Chamberlain, Angus Hampton-Carr, Leo Crawshaw-Bond, Carlos Martin and Te Kapua Pene's latest and greatest work to date — out today via Loop Recordings Aot(ear)oa
