GREAT SOUNDS GREAT 2024 Festival First Lineup ft. Fur Patrol, Jujulipps, Grecco Romank + More
Eyegum Music Collective's multi-venue GREAT SOUNDS GREAT festival is returning to Te-Whanganui-a-Tara's Cuba Street precinct this winter, keeping windy city gig-goers toasty with a lineup of monumental proportions. Threading through six venues on 31st August, acts revealed to be converging upon the capital include Aotearoa rock legends Fur Patrol fronted by the iconic Julia Deans, 2024 Best Independent Debut winner Jujulipps, Tāmaki Makaurau dancefloor demons Grecco Romank, Ōtepoti electronic goths Death and the Maiden (whose new album Uneven Ground is out this Friday), kosmische voyagers Half Hexagon (James Milne, Yolanda Fagan and Julien Dyne), avant-violinist Motte, hip-hop / funk big band Raw Collective, sibling dreamscape trio Womb, and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Notably, this year's festival programme also features a poetry component, including widely feted poetry star and always incisive Spinoff advice columnist Hera Lindsay Bird.
With even more acts to be revealed soon, we recommend taking action immediately to secure early bird tickets, as many venues are strictly limited in capacity. We also encourage attendees to contribute to Eyegum's fundraiser HERE, to help ensure such super cool live events can keep on happening, both within our cultural capital and beyond...
