HAMMERS (Aus) Announce Debut New Zealand Shows

Chris Cudby / Thursday 18th July, 2024 10:06AM

Gold Coast riff-manglers HAMMERS will be getting rowdy in Aotearoa this October, bringing their It's A Small World Tour across the ditch for debut local headline dates in Auckland, New Plymouth and Wellington. The Aussie five-piece forged their own humungous blend of pub / stoner / butt / rap-rock and metalcore on 2018's Homeblokes EP and 2020's Kicking Goals EP, launching their infectiously explosive latest single 'Top Fun' onto our airwaves in April — described by one UTR contributor in the office this morning as sounding like "Rage Against The Machine meets Creed meets The Chats?" Even citing Keven Bloody Wilson as a reference point, the team will be hitting our shores before bouncing to Japan for the second leg of the tour. Look forward to their forthcoming debut album and go catch HAMMERS this spring...

Hammers get hedonistic in their video for new single 'Top Fun'...

Press release:

Forging unpredictable grooves, jagged riffs and tasty hooks, Aussie rockers HAMMERS are bringing their hard-hitting live show to New Zealand and Japan for the very first time this October / November. The Gold Coast quintet have carved out a name for themselves as one of the hardest working bands on the circuit, and a reputation as a must-see live band on the Aussie scene.

2024 has proven both productive and super busy for the beloved Gold Coast noise-makers. Following the release of ‘Top Fun’, the lead single from their forthcoming debut full length, they also announced the addition of a fifth member in local heavy music mainstay, Dario Lagana (ex-HELM, Snake Mountain), as well as a string of tour dates in support of their ‘Weekender Bender’ campaign, indefinitely targeting as many regional Australian towns as possible. Amid all of this, they still manage to tear down the studio walls, ploughing through the completion of the aforementioned full length album, set to burn early 2025.

Now, in very exciting news we finally see the boys skip the pond, setting out to introduce their insanely infectious live show to international waters. This October / November, HAMMERS will visit New Zealand & Japan for a string of 8 shows across two countries, over two weeks. These plans have been on the radar for the boys since early 2020, previously squashed by the filthy wheeze of the ol’ spicy cough. Now, returning with an absolute vengeance, our favourite local tools could not be happier at the prospect.

HAMMERS unapologetically fly the flag for true blue Australian heavy rock in a modern industry where fortune rarely seems to favour the bold. But, true to form, the quintet’s uncompromising wares have continually transcended any roadblocks in their way, striking an unforgettable balance between flippant fun and searing substance without sacrificing genuine craftsmanship. The brawny might of Hammers is on full display during one of their monstrous live performances, further amplified by the band’s boisterous musical flavours, Aussie spirit and authentic camaraderie. For any fans of the below... The Bronx, AC/DC, Kvelertak, Every Time I Die, Deftones, Alice In Chains, He Is Legend, Alexisonfire, Kyuss, Soundgarden, Kevin Bloody Wilson, Rage Against the Machine, Midnight Oil, Motorhead, Sex Pistols or Limp Bizkit… DO NOT miss HAMMERS.

Brought to you by Summerland Records, Paranormal Activities & Beats Cartel...
