Jon Toogood Announces Debut Solo Album 'Last Of The Lonely Gods' Release Tour

Chris Cudby / Tuesday 23rd July, 2024 8:00AM

One of the most iconic figures in Aotearoa's rock pantheon to emerge over the past three plus decades, Jon Toogood of Shihad and The Adults (as well as SML) has announced a suitably colossal tour of his homeland, launching his debut solo album Last Of The Lonely Gods with nineteen headline dates in October and November. Toogood announced his new record last Friday with uplifting (in an Atlas-like sense) anthem 'Gravity' and the heart-swelling, celestial balladry of the title track (released at the end of last month). Out in full on 11th October via Warner Music NZ, Last Of The Lonely Gods presents ten reflections on "on loss, resilience, and healing" from the multi-platinum, multiple Tūī award winning, New Zealand Music Hall of Fame songwriter.

Jon Toogood's release tour will take him to a variety of intimate spaces across the motu, wrapping up at Tāmaki Makaurau's new Double Whammy venue and an event at Great Barrier Sports & Social Club, before bouncing abroad for even more shows. Listen to 'Gravity' and 'Last Of The Lonely Gods' below, and don't miss Jon Toogood at the following dates — fans are advised to move at light speed to grab tickets when they go live this coming Monday, all brought to you by Eccles Entertainment and The Rock...
