Listen to Persimmon's Debut Album 'Tomorrow Morning'
Jangle-pop band Persimmon have ripened to perfection their debut album Tomorrow Morning. Their singles ‘True Crime’ and ‘Cleaning Graves’ have been circulating alt radio networks with ease. Hailing from Te Papaioea, the group have returned to Aotearoa after time away in Melbourne / Naarm, bringing us home a sound reminiscent of '80s / '90s Flying Nun, Dick Diver and Stella Donnelly. Something tells me Persimmon might get along pretty well with Ōtautahi's Model Home, especially with their song ‘Public Transport’ giving off the same cheeky edge as Model Home’s songs about living costs. Their debut record is a crisp production of garage-pop with indie-rock undertones, smooth harmonies and catchy riffs.
Last night, they ripped up the stage at Pōneke’s Moon and are set to hit Snails in their homeground Palmy tomorrow, with Fouler and Sports Dreams. Peel off the plastic on this new long player and or pop a limited-edition cassette tape (available HERE) if you still can…
