Al Park Announces Album Release Show + Shares Video For 'Get Vandalised' by The Vandals (NZ)
Lynchpin of Ōtautahi's world-class songwriting community, Al Park has announced a release event for his new album launched just two weeks ago, Monkey aka One For The Dog One For The Cat & One For The People With A Monkey On Their Back. Featuring contributions from fellow Cantabrian luminaries Adam Hattaway, Tess Liautaud, Elmore Jones, Reuben Derrick, Steve Harrop and Thomas Isbister, Park will toast his second long player in just over two decades at Space Academy, singing all the songs from Monkey with band on 6th October.
He's also shared latest single from the record, a rip-snorting rendition of 'Get Vandalised' by his pioneering '70s punk group The Vandals (not to be confused with the later US band), accompanied by agit-prop animated graphics by Jody Llyod in the spirit of Bansky. Hit play, listen to the full album below and head along this spring, presented by Bad Gin Sanctuary...

Press release:
Released in August to rave reviews, Al Park and his band (Adam Hattaway, Elmore Jones & AJ Park) are celebrating the new album 'MONKEY'.
From the young punk with a telecaster, to the old soul with the acoustic, Al has been not just a representative of music but sensei to some of its strongest exports (Marlon Williams, Aldous Harding, Delaney Davidson, the Adams - McGrath and Hattaway), always there making the magic move and the music sing.
A man who has no thoughts of retiring, Al is still digging in the record mines and as excited as a teenager with their first demo, Al keeps making records and writing songs and singing them for whomever comes a listening but more importantly because songs are his story. His comfort and joy, fire and light, answers and questions all at once.
