(Hed) P.E. Touring New Zealand In February
Toasting their third decade of nu-metal / "G-Punk" insanity in 2024, California's (Hed) P.E. — full name Higher Education Planet Earth / Planetary Evolution — are finally hitting our shores for the first time since 2018. The unapologetically bolshy team of founding frontman Jared "M.C.U.D." Gomes, Jeremiah "Trauma" Stratton, Kurt "Kid Bass" Blankenship and recent recruit Nathan Javier will be touring Aotearoa in mid-February, letting rip in Christchurch, Auckland and Wellington. Achieving significant Billboard chart success with a storming run of releases throughout the '00s — including their breakout second album Broke (2000), Blackout (2003) and Only in Amerika (2004) — (Hed) P.E. will be here celebrating their 2023 studio record DETOX and covers collection 70's Hits From the Pit. Here are the details...
"Detox embarks on a spiritual journey from a state of chemical enslavement to self-liberation, and then, ironically, back again. I composed this from an intimately personal standpoint, as I grappled with addiction throughout my life. On this album, I’m unapologetically candid, addressing topics such as sexuality, substance use, and a hardcore lifestyle. I’ve incorporated more rap elements, and the music is notably heavier and thrash-oriented. I discovered the inspiration to delve into some gritty subjects. This album truly grants the audience what they’ve longed for, without compromising artistic integrity." - Jared "M.C.U.D." Gomes

Press release:
Fresh off a relentless touring schedule across the United States and Europe, HED PE are ready to conquer Australia once again and, for the first time since 2018, New Zealand, thanks to October Presents."
HED P.E. has been a cornerstone in the rock and metal scene, captivating audiences with their unique blend of rock, punk, rasta, gangsta rap, and soul, affectionately coined as "G-Punk." If you have not experienced HED P.E. live, you can expect pounding riffage, solid grooves and funk infused rhythms all laced by the flow, melody and cadence of frontman, Jahred Gomes.
Many bands three decades into their career would be happy to tread the boards and play for the nostalgia, not HED P.E. their most recent and incredibly fifteenth album, Detox, was released in December 2023 and shows a band with no time to sit on their hands and muse about the past. Detox is a crushing return to the G-Punk sound that the bands fans know and adore.
On this highly anticipated tour, HED P.E. will be delivering an unforgettable assault on the senses, tearing through both nations with stops in every capital city.
