Watch Threat.Meet.Protocol's Animated Video For New Single 'The Cure'
Not to be mixed up with the universally beloved project of UK black eyeliner enthusiast Robert Smith, 'The Cure' is in fact the propulsive new audio-visual release from Tauranga post-punks Threat.Meet.Protocol. Starting their hefty ten date tour of Te Ika-a-Māui with Pittsburgh post-metal / doomgazers Spotlights (Ipecac Records) tonight in Tāmaki Makaurau, T.M.P have joined forces with Videos Mosconi to conjure a stop-motion puppetry treat for your eyeballs — a home-crafted twilight vortex, teeming with subterranean secrets, creepy / cute pets and diabolical treasure.
Sparked by Ray Bradbury's short story The Foghorn, 'The Cure' is a brooding yet sleek rumination on "eternal loneliness, and the longing to end this hopelessness". Smash that play button, send T.M.P rocketing to their rightful place at the top of the charts, and catch Austin Cunningham, Luke Turner and Evan Pope throwing down at the following dates...
"After the dismal failure of our last single 'Funeral March' we are not deterred. Our new single 'The Cure', with a mind bending video from the legendary Videos Mosconi, is out today. It is coincidentally timed to drop a day before our NZ tour with US band Spotlights begins, so we can use their success to amplify our own. This time we are going to really cut through and make the top ten NZ singles charts.
I feel it. Do you?"
