Nikita 雅涵 Tu-Bryant (KITA) & An Ogre Share Video For 'Chasing Summer' + Announce Launch Show

One third of Aotearoa electronica voyagers KITA, Nikita 雅涵 Tu-Bryant's recent collaborative single with An Ogre (Neil Crispin Aldridge) 'Chasing Summer' has now borne visual fruit. Not only has the Taiwan-born, Pōneke-based singer / multi-instrumentalist unveiled a theatrical choreographed video for the kaleidoscopic tune, she'll be reuniting with fellow KITA bandmates Ed Zuccollo (ZUKE) and Rick Cranson to play a can't-miss release party at the capital's Rogue and Vagabond on 12th December.

Produced by Nikita 雅涵 Tu-Bryant, directed / filmed by Jiaqi Tang and made with support from NZ On Air, the new short film follows the lovelorn artist travelling via dreamscape pathways to become the latest member of Broken Hearts Anonymous. Headline artist at this year's World Of WearableArt, Nikita 雅涵 Tu-Bryant picks up the thread of that project, inviting five collaborative dancers to make shapes in free-flowing, cult-like garments in sync with the multi-layered "love song... inspired by the narrative of chasing only the good times". "The music video was made after I finished my season in World Of WearableArt, it's been a really busy year (!) and I ended up producing the music video myself with funding from NZ ON AIR MUSIC. It was the first time I've had funding from them since I was 15! Due to the beautiful beast of a show that is WOW, naturally there was not much time to bring things together. I had 2 weeks to solidify location, script, and cast and crew for the making of this music video. What a crew we had! I was incredibly lucky to bring on 5 performers from World Of Wearable Arts into the music video. We have Sharn Te Pou who was headlining WOW with me (The Dreamer and The Dreammaker), three 1st year dancers from NZ School of Dance, and 1 actor from Toi Whakaari. The goal for the music video was to have fun, and apart from a couple of issues with Pōneke weather not wanting to play ball, all in all it was a great shoot.

We'll be celebrating the release of the music video Thurs 12 of December at Rogue and Vagabond in Pōneke, with our band KITA bringing our own rendition of the song. It's also a great excuse to celebrate the end of a big year, and things have been quiet on the KITA front as I finish our film, and the time with WOW. The show at Rogue is special for us too, as it was where KITA first cut our teeth.
