Bub Unleash Single / Video 'New Amsterdam' + Announce Debut Album Release Show

What's all this hubbub about Bub? The new wave / punk-pop / doo-wop project of Priya Sami (Sami Sisters, Trip Pony) with bandmates Daniel Barrett, David Harris and Joe Kaptein, Bub (which may or may not stand for "Break Up Band") is the name on everybody's lips this week and for good reason. Gracing our Good Friday with emotionally shattering slacker anthem 'New Amsterdam' plus news of their forthcoming debut album Can’t Even — sporting some of the best local cover artwork of this year — Bub(s) seal the deal with a spectacular clip for said tune self-directed by Sami. 

Starring Kura Forrester as the golden-gloved Goldie Belle, aka "Aotearoa’s most in-demand session musician," and Scotty "Space Dust" Cotter as Wayne Frankiestens Stevies, "a once-great record producer from the 1970s who’s still coasting on a cosmic high from ’76," the video features the glammed-up Bub lineup of Alex Freer, Jana Te Nahu-Owen and Barrett laying down the good stuff, making magic happen right before our very eyes and ears.

Whilst some might demand more (or less) cowbell, there is zero doubt surrounding the fact Bub have three ripper Tāmaki Makaurau gigs locked in for May. We might as well rename NZ Music Month / Te Marama Puoro o Aotearoa as Bub Music Month, amirite?
