Harry Charles Shares New Album 'Movement'

Harry Charles welcomes listeners to his world with 'Wandering Water' / 'Titans (2nd Movement)', an oceanic voyage of electronic synthesis, delicately plucked Balearic guitars and driving beat-work with more than a touch of cinematic drama, an expansive opener to his sophomore album out today via Loop. Movement is happily and confidently eclectic in scope, alchemising elements of deeply felt house / techno soul, electronica, wisp-like ambience, bass-booming hip-hop and even poetic folk lyricism in his studio lab.

Ōtautahi-based rapper Senzu's lyrical flow fuels recent single 'Smoke & Dust', otherwise Movement is entirely a one-man vision in sound, structured like a passage from interior spaces to exterior bucolic lushness (as Charles explains below). Back home following an extended stay in Berlin, where Charles honed his artistic practice for several years, Movement signifies new beginnings and a reconnection with the Aotearoa-born producer / multi-instrumentalist's roots. "As the album draws to a close, I decided to bring it back to the roots of my musical journey. Within the concept of the album, you walk out of the house and into the garden. This song is told from the perspective of the garden, and it’s a story of how it can provide us with all we need and essentially is a love song to nature and to those we choose to enjoy it with".
