Jed Parsons Announces Nationwide Tour + Jeff Parsnips Kids Album Release Tour
Fast becoming an icon of Canterbury creativity, whose multiple talents extend beyond the realm of songwriting — his bawdy 'Christmas' comedy spectaculars are a staple in themselves — Jed Parsons' next plan is to warm up our winter months with a five date nationwide tour of Aotearoa. Drummer for cousin Mel Parsons for their recent support for Crowded House and Australian tour, Parsons vows to be "solo and serious" for his upcoming gig onslaught, treating attendees to "brand-new music being thoroughly road-tested on his first nationwide tour in years", paving the way towards his forthcoming third album.
Wearer of many hats, Parsons has also been hard at work on the debut album from his kids music alter-ego Jeff Parsnips, releasing Silly Songs For Silly Sausages on 27th June with an accompanying tour that lines up elegantly with his 18+ solo adventures. High quality tunes for music buffs of all ages, scope out the tour details below and bring everyone along...

Press release:
Jed Parsons returns to Lyttelton on his nationwide tour! Solo and serious.
With two critically acclaimed albums, millions of streams, and a string of high-profile tours and collaborations under his belt, Jed Parsons has cemented his place as one of New Zealand’s standout indie singer-songwriters and live performers.
His latest album ‘Brunch’ drew praise from Rolling Stone and RNZ, the latter declaring “nobody is writing catchier choruses in NZ right now.” Since its release, Parsons has branched out creatively—venturing into comedy, children’s music, and more.
Between releases, collaborations with artists like Troy Kingi have taken him to sold-out shows at iconic venues such as the Wellington Opera House and Auckland Town Hall. In 2024, he performed at the Silver Scrolls—closing the night with Hall Of Fame inductee Don McGlashan’s ‘Tomorrow Night’—and appeared at the New Zealand International Comedy Festival, where he was a finalist for ‘Best Newcomer’ and ‘Most Unhinged Show’. More recently, Parsons has played arenas around the country as drummer for Mel Parsons (supporting Crowded House) and completed a 20-date headline tour through Australia.
With brand-new music being thoroughly road-tested on his first nationwide tour in years, anticipation is building for Parsons' next release, due out mid-2025
Join Jeff Parsnips to celebrate the release of his debut kids album 'Silly Songs For Silly Sausages'!
With two critically acclaimed albums, high profile collaborations and countless tours under his belt, singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jed Parsons has now found himself distracted by a new path; this time following the dazzling lights of children’s music. The street-credibility of his indie profile remains intact however, as he cleverly hides behind his alter-ego Jeff Parsnips - a link he is sure nobody will make.
Besides his own children, Parsnips finds inspiration from children’s story and songwriters along the lines of Spike Milligan, Anika Moa, Raffi, Don McGlashan and Harry Sinclair (Kiri & Lou).
Parsnips released his debut single Tomato Tamati to much delight in 2023. The song is a celebration of the lighter parts of kiwiana, with Parsnips’ thick kiwi accent narrating the culinary journey of Tomato Tamati; a boy who loves tomato sauce so much he will put it on anything from Weetbix to icecream. Two more single releases later, he is now focused on the release of his upcoming debut album, ‘Silly Songs For Silly Sausages’ which comes out on June 27th.
