Curumin (BR) Auckland Headline Show Announced
Genre-fusing champion of samba, funk, jazz, bossa nova and hip-hop in his homeland of Brazil, Curumin is venturing to Australasia for the first time ever this coming spring, with a special headline date locked in at Tāmaki Makaurau's Ponsonby Social Club. Making his mark on the global stage from the mid-'00s onwards with a run of albums via Quannum Projects — invited on board by Chief Xcel of Blackalicious — Curumin contributed to the Red Hot + Rio 2 (2011) compilation alongside a cast of international heavyweights including David Byrne, Beck, Caetano Veloso, and Money Mark (Beastie Boys). Unveiling his new long player Pedra de Selva late last year, this is a rare opportunity to catch such a world-class, Grammy-nominated talent live in the intimate setting of PSC (who also now host the very yum Sunday Burritos on-site).
