Jay Clarkson & The Containers Share Video For '1000 Hours'

Chris Cudby / Wednesday 4th June, 2025 2:25PM

Jay Clarkson is towering figure in Aotearoa's songwriting landscape, from her breakout work during the '80s with The Playthings and They Were Expendable / The Expendables — a selection of which is featured on 1993's Flying Nun Records compilation Packet — and her award-winning Breathing Cage, right up to this decade's outburst of activity with her latest ensemble The Containers.

Launched earlier this year via Austrian-based NZ imprint Zelle Records, Jay Clarkson's new album Falling Through has been hailed as "just glorious" by Graham Reid, and now we're treated to an elegantly minimal and contemplative visualiser clip for the soaring and stomping '1000 Hours', time-lapse footage filmed by her son Sam Clarkson. Experience the majesty below, revisit AudioCulture's in-depth profile of Clarkson HERE and order your copy of Falling Through on vinyl LP HERE...

Jay Clarkson & The Containers' new album 'Falling Through' is out now on vinyl LP (order HERE) and on major streaming platforms.
