Riften and Vines festival hosts a glorious cross-section of Aotearoa's noisy underground for lucky windy city punters in less than two weeks time, a baker's dozen uncompromising acts cramming into Underground Tavern on Saturday 12th July. Special guests from beyond the capital include Tāmaki Makaurau bilingual rapper Swizl Jager, Ōtepoti noise-punks Hōhā, electronic synapse-scrambler Michael Logie (The Mint Chicks, F In Math), transgender art-pop artist LEIGH (touring her excellent new album Empathy for My Future Self), the inimitable Ron Gallipoli (whose An Imposter original cast recording launches this Wednesday), Ōtautahi digital hardcore specialist Internet Death and Whanganui synth-punk XRVR — joining in-the-red local mavericks EUG, Into Orbit, Side Eye, Mud Goose, and Goya.

There'll be an art market "3 cool raffles" and a "bone lottery", plus there's an official Cool Whanganui Side Show happening at Porridge Watson the night before, including the absolutely scorching DISPLEASURE along with selected acts from the main fest. Two smashing lineups, blimmen heck...
